L’expression picturale est imprégnée des actions et réactions des hommes qui laissent leur empreinte sur leur environnement, tant spatial que temporel, qui à son tour marque ces hommes.

C’est cette chaîne créatrice que je propose à travers Fil d’Ariane. Véritable Fil conducteur constitué de modules tels que Xposelive, Digital palimpsest, Univers palimpseste, Trace, Via presence, …

B2Fays utilise les nouvelles technologies afin de relier le vivant. Il s’agit de créer un outil de communication reliant le corps du visiteur à son environnement quotidien par une matière picturale et musicale. Ainsi, entre une réalité tangible et sa réinterprétation se glisse la magie créatrice d’un processus artistique, renouvelant par l’entremise d’une expérience personnelle vécue notre perception du monde.

TRACE DE ROBIE

Trace de Robie propose une installation interactive associant les peintures de Jean Robie aux arts technologiques de notre temps, afin d’établir un dialogue entre le passé et le présent, et permettre aux visiteurs « d’entrer » avec un regard contemporain dans sa peinture.

Trace de Robie est une installation multimédia interactive qui propose un environnement immersif généré à partir des comportements des participants.

Ce dispositif interactif permet aux visiteurs d’interagir avec un environnement pictural et musical en lien avec l’œuvre et les voyages de Jean Robie (Europe, Moyen-Orient, Inde, Sri-Lanka).

Un réseau d’installations multimédia interactives qui proposent un environnement immersif généré à partir des comportements des participants lors de leur rencontre virtuelle et leurs environnements respectifs.

Les participants accèdent au processus de création en entrant dans l’une des installations locales. Ils se trouvent, chacun dans leur pays respectif, face à une projection vidéo diffusée sur grand écran et dans un environnement sonore. équipé d’un micro et via une caméra qui capte leurs présences physiques et leurs déplacements en temps réel, chaque participant inscrit son image sur l’écran, puis bouge et parle pour impressionner à nouveau le palimpseste en création. Lorsque les deux participants se rencontrent dans l’espace virtuel (image projetée et musique diffusée), les silhouettes se touchent, se découvrent et interagissent au rythme de leurs gestes. Ainsi ensemble, par leurs comportements (image, voix, mouvement) et l’interaction sur leurs environnements respectifs (peintures et musiques réalisées par des artistes locaux), les participants génèrent l’œuvre interactive en création.

UNIVERS PALIMPSESTE diffuse en temps réel, simultanément dans les installations et sur Internet. Le site donne accès au performances et à l’ensemble des bases de données réalisées dans chaque ville : monuments en 3D emblématiques, interprétations picturales et musicales des artistes locaux.

DIGITAL PALIMPSEST est une installation multimédia locale proposant un environnement immersif généré à partir des comportements sonores et visuels du participant au travers d’un processus de création composé de plusieurs étapes d’interaction.

Le participant accède au processus de création en entrant dans une installation locale. Il se trouve face à une projection vidéo diffusée sur grand écran et dans un environnement sonore.

équipés d’un micro et via une caméra qui capte sa présence physique et ses déplacements en temps réel, le participant inscrit son image sur l’écran, puis bouge et parle pour impressionner à nouveau le palimpseste en création.

Ainsi, par son comportement (image, voix, mouvement) et l’interaction sur son environnement (monuments en 3D emblématiques, interprétations picturales et musicales du lieu), le participant génère l’œuvre interactive en création.

Cette mise en perspective ludique d’une forme de peinture en mouvement se transforme en lieu d’expérimentation pour les corps qui pénètrent dans le dispositif.

Une démarche sensorielle émerge. Les transformations obtenues par les outils informatiques se substituent à la matière picturale et sonore.

Le participant est l’artisan de la performance qu’il exécute : il n’est plus consommateur passif, mais devient acteur critique.

XPOSELIVE une performance entraînant le visiteur dans un processus de création, où sa position traditionnelle de spectateur est transformée afin de lui permettre d’inscrire son corps dans l’œuvre qui prend la forme d’une action picturale visuelle et/ou sonore, immédiatement perceptible.

La peinture de B2Fays, composée de strates, alimente installations ou performances multimédia interactives, et pose la trame d’un palimpseste numérique. Béatrice de Fays conçoit des dispositifs, élaborés à partir de différentes techniques et divers média, permettant au visiteur d’entrer dans "l’espace" de la peinture.

En 1984, B2Fays aborde son travail de création en autodidacte, au travers de la bande dessinée et en utilisant des palettes graphiques. Vers 1987, elle abandonne ces outils pour se consacrer à la peinture.
Elle mémorisait cependant chaque peinture, afin de constituer une "mémoire".

En 2006, B2Fays est lauréate du programme "Villa Médicis Hors les Murs" en Inde. Depuis, elle vit et travaille entre l’Inde et l’Europe, où elle crée des peintures en lien avec des installations multimédias interactives (locales ou en réseau).

The pictorial expression is impregnated with actions and reactions of the men who leave their trace on both spacial and temporal environment, a trace that in its turn, leaves its mark on them.

That’s the creative chain I offer through Fil d’Ariane. A real unifying thread composed of modules such as Xposelive, Digital palimpsest, Univers palimpseste, Trace, Via presence, …

B2Fays uses the new technologies in order to connect the living. It’s about creating a communication tool connecting the visitor’s body to his daily environment through a pictorial and musical material. In this way, between a tangible reality and its reinterpretation, here comes the creative magic of an artistic process, renewing our perception of the world through the intervention of a personal experience.

TRACE OF ROBIE

Trace de Robie provides an interactive installation combining the paintings of Jean Robie with the technological arts of our time, in order to establish a dialogue between past and present and offer visitors the chance to « enter in » , to look at his work through contemporary eyes.

Trace de Robie is an interactive multimedia installation that creates an immersive environment generated using the behaviour of the participants.

This interactive system enables visitors to become part of a pictorial and musical environment related to the work and travels of Jean Robie (Europe, Middle East, India, Sry-Lanka).

A network of interactive multimedia installations offering a full-immersion environment generated from the behaviours of the participants during their virtual meeting and through the mix of their own environment.

The participants have access to the creation process entering in one of the local installations. They stand, each one in their own country, in front of a video projection broadcast on a big screen and surrounded by a sonorous multibroadcasting. Each participant has a microphone and there is a camera capturing his physical presence and his movements in real time, in order to allow him to communicate with the work and transform it. He puts his image in the screen, then moves and speaks to impress once again the palimpsest in creation. When the two participants meet in the virtual space (projected image and broadcast music), their profile can touch and discover the other one and they interact to the rhythm of their movements. In this way, together, through their behaviours (image, voice, movement) and through the mix of their own environment (paintings and music realized by local artists), the participants generate the interactive work in creation.

UNIVERS PALIMPSESTE broadcasts in real time, simultaneously in the installations and on the Internet. The site give access to the performances and to the whole database created in each town : 3D emblematic monuments. Pictorial and musical interpretations made by local artists.

DIGITAL PALIMPSEST is a local multimedia installation proposing a full-immersion environment generated from the acoustic and visual behaviours of the participant through a creation process made of several interaction stages.

The participant has access to the creation process by entering a local installation. He finds himself in front of a video projection broadcast on the big screen and in an acoustic environment.

Equipped with headphones and through a camera capturing his physical presence and his movements in real time, the participant enters his image on the screen, then moves and talks to impress once again the palimpsest in action.

Therefore, by his behaviour (image, voice, movement) and the interaction on his environment (3D emblematic monuments, pictorial and musical interpretations of the place), the participant generates the interactive work in creation.

By playfully giving this form of moving painting a new perspective in this way, participants take part in transforming the space into a place of experimentation for the bodies that enter the device.

A sensory approach emerges. The transformations obtained by the computer tools replace the pictorial and acoustic matter.

Participants are the crafters of their own performance: they are no longer passive consumers. Rather, they have become critical performers.

B2Fays’ painting, made up of strata, feeds interactive multimedia installations or performances, and sets the framework of a digital palimpsest. Béatrice de Fays conceives systems worked out from different techniques and various media, allowing the visitor to come into "the space" of the painting.

In 1984, B2Fays started her work of creation as an autodidact, through comic strips and using graphics palettes.
Around 1987, she left these tools to dedicate herself to the painting. In the meantime, she memorized each painting, in order to constitute a « memory ».

In 1994, her whole work was destroyed by fire. So she decided to use the new technologies once again, to invite the visitor to get into the process of creation.

In 2006, B2Fays was the prizewinner of the program “Villa Médicis Hors les Murs” in India. Since then, she has been living between India and Europe, where she creates paintings connected to the interactive multimedia installations (local or in network).
